ContentArmor, a leading watermarking technology vendor, announces today their joining to Media Technology Program of Akamai, the intelligent edge platform for securing and delivering digital experiences, and the availability of an integrated solution to deter online piracy.
ContentArmor advanced forensic watermarking technology enables copyright holders to trace the source of unauthorized distribution. Forensic watermarks are a required addition to DRM mandated by leading studios for UHD/4K and early window content. Watermarking has also been deployed by Sports Leagues and PayTV platforms to respond to the ever growing piracy of live sports events.
In order to accelerate future deployments, ContentArmor has worked with Akamai on how to leverage on their computing ability at the edge to build a complete watermarking system. In contrast with others solutions, ContentArmor Video Watermarking does not require any additional video encoding capabilities and provides just-in-time bitstream modification to save storage at the origin, thereby minimising the overall cost of ownership.
